From the super-hit TV series to the biggest movie franchises, we have seen many fantastic performances.  Especially from the past recent years Britain’s has dominated in all forms including action, entertainment, and supernatural powers. After seeing interest of fans in finding the biggest British hero ever, we have decided to list some top notch characters of Britain’s and let people decide who is best!

Doctor Who

Doctor who is undeniably one of the best TV series ever, many of the generation grown up watching this entertaining drama series.  This famous and adventurous science-fiction series produced back in 1963. Till now twelve actors have been cast to play the character of Doctors, each of them has its own unique personality but the plot remains the same always. He explores the whole universe in the TARDIS; his time traveling spaceship and save the world from the destruction every time. William Hartnell played the very first incarnation of Doctor, and 55 years old Peter Capaldi joins the series as the Twelfth Doctor early in this year. This program originally ran from 1963-89 featuring 26 episodes and a single short TV film, but due to not getting the positive critics of the fans this drama series was not telecasted for around ten years. But the famous producer and screenwriter Russell T Davies re launched the series back in 2005. Christopher Eccleston was cast to play ninth doctor role, first doctor of 21st century. The series again started getting the positive response from the viewers, after that David Tennant headlined as the Tenth Doctor, Matt Smith as Eleventh Doctor who was succeed by Peter Capaldi in special 800th episode “The Time of The Doctor”.

Harry Potter

The most earning movie series of all time “Harry Potter” based on the same name fantasy novels written by famous author J. K. Rowling. She released the first novel “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone “ on 1997 which got well acclaimed and commercial success. As of July 2013, the 400-450 Million books has been sold worldwide, which make it the best-selling book series in the history, it is also translated in probably 73 languages. The plot is based on the central character of Harry Potter his friends including Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger studying in “Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry”. This same name movie series based on the eight installments, Daniel Radcliffe played the central character of Harry Potter in all eight occasions.  All movies are based on the same novel name except the last two films; they split the last novel in two cinematic parts. The last addition of this fantasy movie series “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” released back in 2011, which have broken all previous records of the franchise.  This movie received a great critical success and able to generate almost $7.7 Billion Worldwide. This best ever movie series came to end probably three years before, but all the characters are still fresh in our mind and will remain for a long time too.

Sherlock Homes

The character of detective Sherlock Homes created by great author and by physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in the novel “A Study in Scarlet” early 1987.  The fictional character of Sherlock featured in four novels and over 56 novels. This character also has the record of most appearances in a movie, which is over 200 played by 70 actors. Sherlock Holmes Baffled is the first movie released in 1990. The character also appeared in TV series with different languages. Many of the famous played the characters of Sherlock including Bond star Roger Moore in TV series , Iron Man Robert Downey, Jr also portrayed two super-hit movies including “Sherlock Holmes “, and “A Game of Shadows”. Basil Rathbone played the character Sherlock Homes most times, he played the character during 1939-53 in fifteen movies. The English actor Benedict Cumberbatch sherlock homes played the character of great detective in crime drama series “Sherlock’, until now two season of this TV series is released, and third going to be broadcast in the following years.

James Bond

The longest running series of all time “James Bond”. We all have grown up seeing watching 007 daniel Craig gadgets, his muscular cars, and remembering his pick up lines “Shakes, Not Stirred”.  Admire that we all have tried calling our name as Bond does while wearing a tuxedo.  The character of James Bond was created by former Navy officer and author “Ian Fleming” in his first spy novel Casino Royale (1957).  Fleming has published twelve novels and two short stories featuring MI6 secret agent. The character of Bond adopted in radio, TV series early but after the great witnessing the great response of the fans the fictional character was finally adopted in the big screen.

The first 007 movie was based on the fifth same name spy novel of Ian Fleming “Dr.No” in 1962, and since now twenty three official movies released by the EON production including the latest one “Skyfall”. The Scottish actor Sean Connery starred as MI6 agent in the first five movies, he returned again for his sixth last appearance as Bond after a single movie for Australian Model actor George Lezenby.  The living legend Sir Roger Moore was the third actor to play 007 role, he also has the record of most appearances as Bond (seven times). After that Timothy Dalton for two and Pierce Bronan for four movies portrayed the secret agent role. Daniel Craig presented as the modern era of Bond in Casino Royale, until now he appeared in three blockbuster movies, Craig is also signed for two further movies. Bond 24 shooting going to start late this year at December, and the movie going to hit the there on Nov. 6, 2015.
